A BILLY bookshelf from IKEA will hold your books just fine, but a home office asks a shelf to do a lot custom more than hold books, and that's where built-in bookshelves pull ahead. Your desk, your monitor, your printer, your cables, and whatever ends up behind you on video calls all have to work together. We've been building home office storage at Expresscloset since 2005, and the room we get called into most often is a study where the shelving and the desk were bought separately and never quite met.
